Dr. Ernesto Gutierrez
Dr. Ernesto Gutierrez is a published and extensively educated physician. He received his medical degree from Anáhuac University’s Faculty of Medicine which is the most prestigious private medical school in Mexico. Afterwards he achieved a Post-Graduate Degree as Master of Aesthetic and Antiaging Medicine from the Instituto Mexicano de Medicina Antienvejecimiento y Estética in Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Gutierrez has spent considerable time in additional training in the US, with two specialty organizations including certification in Age Management Medicine at Cenegenics Medical Institute, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
One of the significant aspects of Dr. Gutierrez’s training background is this postgraduate training inAge Management medicine. His well rounded approach in the area of whole person medicine expands on his team’s expertise to address a wide range of medical issues.
Dr. Gutierrez joined World Stem Cells Clinic first as Medical Director and more recently has been appointed as President for the Clinic, Laboratory and Research facility where novel autologous stem cell therapeutic applications are being developed since 2010.
Dr. Ernesto Gutierrez is also very passionate about and committed to the development of new medical professionals. Since 2013 he has held a teaching position at Anahuac University’s School of Medicine where he passes on his experience to young doctors in training not only in the classroom but also by allowing them to visit, learn and participate in World Stem Cells Clinic’s state-of-the-art laboratory and research facility.
Before accepting a position in World Stem Cells Clinic, Dr. Gutierrez’s work had taken him all around the world where he had the opportunity to experience many different cultures and granted him a thorough understanding of medical systems in all of the American continent as well as in Europe. His bilingual English and Spanish skills, both in medical and conversational applications, are excellent.
Dr. Fredy Sanssores
Dr. Fredy Sansores completed his subspecialty training in hematology at the prestigious Centro Medico Nacional 20 de Noviembre in Mexico City. This institution is one of the most important teaching and research hospitals in the country. It is ranked as one of the most coveted residency positions for postgraduate medical training in Latin America.
His inclination towards hematology started during his specialty training in internal medicine where he was the lead professor for the hematology module in a nation-wide continuing medical education program for general practitioners.
During his residency Dr. Sansores participated in numerous research papers involving bone marrow and autologous stem cell transplantation. This has enabled him to expand and accelerate World Stem Cells Clinic’s development of cutting edge therapeutic research and clinical therapies. He is also experienced in cord blood cryobiology which is a perfect complement to our new cryo banking division for our patient’s stem cells.
Currently, Dr. Sansores is also the lead physician responsible for the blood bank in Playa del Carmen. This level of laboratory responsibility is a perfect complement to the strict requirements of our cellular facility. Dr. Marcial Maciel
Marcial Maciel, M.D. is an internationally experienced physician with an extensive background in scientific research and applications as well as in clinical patient management. Maintaining a full academic scholarship, Marcial Maciel graduated as one of the top students in his class from one of the currently renowned medical universities in the country, AnÃ¡huac University. He graduated with an outstanding performance diploma his final exam of his career. Also, he achieved a high score in his first United States Medial Licensing Examination.
He has worked the intensive care unit at Floyd Medical Center, Rome, GA United States; under supervision and evaluation of Brijh Singh MD and Neurological Surgery Clinical Training, Las Vegas, NV United States; under supervision of Yevgeniy Khavkin MD and Clinical Internship, University of Aachen, Aachen Germany in Anesthesiology, Emergency, Medicine, Neurology, General Surgery and OBGYN. Dr. Marcial Maciel is fluent in Spanish, English, and German. He understands French and has publications and presentations on subjects such as Restrictive cardiomyopathy as a socio-medical condition, oxygen levels analysis on rats immunized with modified neural peptides with spinal cord lesion, Immunization with neural-derived antigens inhibits lipid peroxidation alter spinal cord injury, factors that influence self medication for respiratory diseases in Caritas Center of Primary Medical Attention and others.
With his years of experience in clinical and research immunology as well as patient management, he is currently working at World Stem Cells Clinic as part of the specialized physicianâ€™s team and also actively participates in the improvement and design of stem cell research protocols to provide the best care possible to the patients of World Stem Cells Clinic.
Dr. Humberto Carrillo
Dr. Humberto Carrillo received his medical degree from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in the city of Puebla, Mexico, where he graduated top of his class. He discovered his passion towards orthopedics early in his medical training which prompted him to complete residency training at the prestigious General Hospital in Mexico City.
During his residency Dr. Carrillo achieved the rank of chief resident and even served as professor of orthopedics for fourth year medical students. Not satisfied with board certification he additionally completed subspecialty training in pediatric orthopedics at the internationally prestigious Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Mexico City.
Since then Dr. Humberto Carrillo has returned to his native Cancún where he shares his experience and expertise at the Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón where thousands of children from underprivileged families come for medical and surgical treatment.
Since joining the team of specialist physicians at World Stem Cells Clinic, Dr. Carrillo’s enormous expertise has proven to be crucial in the development of novel stem cell therapies that provide unparalleled improvements to our patients.
Dr. Shutte is a physician who graduated in 2002. She then continued her studies to specialize in anesthesiology, with a subsspeciality in pain management. She currently is employed at the Zone General Hospital No. 3 in the Mexican social Security Instituted ( IMSS )., anesthesiologist Medical Clinic at the Mexican Institute for State Workes ( ISSTE ) and the Pain Clinic Palliative Care at Amerimed Hospital.
She is A member of the Federation of College Mexico in Anesthesiology. Her deft hands and gantle manner together with her excellent English skills are a distintic asset to our team.
Dr. Ricardo Becerril
Dr. Ricardo Becerril received his medical degree from Escuela Medico Militar in Mexico City in 1995. In 2002 he achieved board certification in ophthalmology after completing his specialty residence at the Military School of Health Graduates in Mexico City.
Dr. Becerril has focused his career in corneal disorders, refractive surgery and eye diseases. He is a nationally recognized expert in refractive surgery and ocular anterior segment which include numerous corneal transplants. His work has been published in both national and international medical scientific journals and he is an active member of several medical groups and societies including the Mexican Board of Ophthalmology (Consejo Mexicano de Oftalmologia), the Society of Military Ophthalmologists, the Mexican Society of Ophthalmology, the Latin-American Association of Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgeons, and the American Academy of Opthalmology, among others.
Dr. Becerril has been involved in private practice first in Mexico City and since 2005 in Cancun. Since joining the team at World Stem Cells Clinic, Dr. Becerrilâ€™s contribution has been crucial in the development of our Macular Degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosa and Optic Nerve Damage treatment protocols.
Dr. Jose Yupit
Dr. José Andrés Yupit received his medical degree from Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico City on January 1991. He is board certified both in Internal Medicine and in Clinical Neurology by the Mexican Board of Internal Medicine and the Mexican Board of Neurology respectively. Afterwards he successfully completed training courses in medical english to help him communicate delicate medical information adequately to his international patients.
Dr. Yupit has participated in over 40 different congresses, symposiums and CME courses as a speaker and evaluating authority. He has also been directly involved in the training and certification of resident physicians in neurology and internal medicine. Currently he holds teaching positions in both Universidad Anahuac’s School of Medicine and Universidad La Salle’s Nursing School.
Since joining the team of physicians at World Stem Cells Clinic in 2013, Dr. Yupit has brought –with his 20+ years of clinical experience– a new focus to novel therapeutic approaches for previously untreatable neurologic and neurodegenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and several other, life-impairing conditions.
Dr. Carlos Buenfil
Dr. Carlos Buenfil received his medical degree in 1984 from the Universidad de Yucatan, the oldest medical school in the Yucatan peninsula. He has been in practice as a clinical pulmonologist for more than 25 years.
Dr. Buenfil is an active member of the National Board of Neumology and the Mexican Society of Neumology and Surgery of the Thorax. He is also one of the founding members of the Society of Neumology of Yucatan. Additionally he has been a member of the American College of Chest Physicians since August 2000 and of the American Thoracic Society since May 2006.
Among Dr. Buenfil’s achievements are his numerous publications in recognised medical journals both nationally and internationally as early as 1986. He was also the recipient of the First Place at the 30th National Radiology Contest in 1996.
In his constant search for betterment and improvement, Dr. Buenfil has attended several courses and congresses both domestically and abroad at least twice a year during his entire medical career. It is this commitment to learning and participating of the newest medical breakthroughs that makes him such a great addition to the team at World Stem Cells Clinic where his knowledge and expertise greatly benefit our COPD research and therapeutic applications.
Aurora was trained at the School of Physical Medicine “Adele Ann Yglesias” at Mexico City’s American British Cowdray Medical Center. She graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. This 4-year hospital training is based on the English method of instruction. It includes an excellent overview of both traditional physical therapy coupled with occupational therapy.
In addition Aurora has taken multiple courses to continue her education including lumbo-pelvic stabilization, addressing rotator cuff injury, soft tissue therapy for the cervical and dorsal spine, updates on cerebral palsy, management of child amputees, and consideration of sexuality in the handicapped patient.
She holds ACLS certification and has been in practice for 18 years both in private and hospital settings. Aurora has been a speaker at the Cardiac Rehabilitation Seminar in Mexico City, lecturing on “Passive mobilization in the critically ill patient”. Her clientele include both high performance athletes to severely incapacitated patients.
Aurora joined the team of health professionals at World Stem Cells Clinic in 2011 and our patients have consistently remarked that besides being a caring a compassionate human being, as a therapist she understands their needs and they very much appreciate her hand-on, led-by-example approach. On top of this she normally encourages patients to record video on their sessions with her so they can ask questions and review her answers later on, share with their own therapists back at home and most importantly, have a visual guide to refer back to when performing their exercises. We are very grateful to have Aurora as part of our staff and we know that so are our patients.
While living in Cancun he met his wife and shortly theereafter they emigrated to Colorado in the United States where he worked in the constructiom industry where he managed his won contratcing firm for eleven years. Today he is the loving father of three kids.
Rudy has been a pivotal part of World Stem Cells Clinic since its inception, activetly participating in the building process of our laboratory and research facility. He literally knows the ins and outs entire operation. Today he is the VP of Operations in charge of logistics, costumers care, patienrt satisfaction and overseeing human resources.
he spends up to 60 hours a week doing what is needed to provide the patients the best possible Stem Cell treatment and to further his future he is working toward a college degress witn and almost perfect 10 score on all finals.

Antonio Zamudio is a chemist and technical paramedic working for World Stem Cells Clinic as the Laboratory Manager since october 2011,he graduated with a degree in Clinical Chemistry from Universidad Veracruzana in 2008. He also holds a master degree in pedagogy and has been a teacher in CECYTE for two and half years.He performed clinical trails in ISSTE Hospital in Veracruz and bio-medical investigations in a Clinical Analysis Laboratory as well in Veracruz. While at World Stem Cells Clinic he has completed several studies such as Optimization of G-CFS Use, as it Relates to stem Cell Induction, Stem Cell Viability and Different Anesthethics, Needie gauge vs Stem Cell Viability and others. After moving to Cancun he contrated with a Clinical Analysis Laboratory in the city, where he worked for 1 year, then he became the Lab Manager in one of the main hospitals of the city and Healt Officer in another laboratory.While working for Word Stem Cells Clinic he has assited with medical treatments, blood work ups, stem cell expansion processing stem cells and stem cell research.
Antonio spoke at a PCR conference where he is certificated by the Mexican Association of Clinical Biochemistry and has published several articles. He also received and award for his participation in the 6th Intra Forum poster mode conference in Universidad Veracruzana in 2009, with the issue: Effect of Oxysterois onserum levels and resisting tumor necrosis factor alpha.
Isha Hernandez is a mexican born medical student attending the School of Medicine in Universidad Anahuac Cancun. She is currently certified in Prevention of Sports Injuries by FIFA, as well as in Basic CPR and First Aid by the American Heart Asociation and the Mexican College of Orthopaedics. Isha has consistently stayed in the top 1% of her class and is fluent in three languages: English, French and Spanish.
Isha’s inclination towards orthopaedics and sports-related injuries began since very early in her life; she was part of Mexico’s National Rythmic Gymnastics Team from age 9 and was the first mexican to compete in Olympic Games in rythmic gymnastics; in YOG Singapore 2010. She still holds the record as the mexican junior gymnast with most national and international medals with over 300 medals in her career. She retired at age 17 to pursue her goal of becoming a physician.
In October 2013, Isha joined our team as part of World Stem Cells Clinic’s commitment to the develoment of future generations of physicians. Her enthusiasm and desire to learn by observing and colaborating side by side with our staff of clinicians and researchers will surely give her access to the most competitive research postgraduate programs where she will make a difference in the way disease will be treated in the coming decades.
